Located in a former Beaux Arts railway station that was constructed around 1900, Musee d'Orsay features the largest collection of impressionist masterpieces in the world. Some of the most notable paintings on view include "Starry Night Over the Rhone,” by Vincent van Gogh, "The Card Players,” by Paul Cézanne, and “L’Absinthe," by Edgar Degas. The majority of the exhibits are French art that dates from 1848 to 1915, including photographs, paintings, furniture, and sculptures. While tours are not offered in English, there is an interactive floor plan in English that you can access to create a personalized, printable tour of your very own. Musee d'Orsay is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , world travel planner Edition.

This museum was quite nice. Good layout and diversity of pieces. We got there around 11:30am and maybe waited 10 min in line. They moved the quantity of people quickly and the people working there were nice and polite. They had the art sectioned off so it was easy to walk through and know what you had and had not seen while still moving forward in a full circle. Would recommend to anyone on a trip to Paris.

Worth the lines and crowds (we went on a free day). The museum itself is awesome, and their collection is wonderful. Big name artists as well as others I was not familiar with. Wear comfortable shoes as most of the floors are stone.
