Stroll through 47 hectares (116 acres) of landscaped gardens in the heart of the Hamburg city center at Planten un Blomen. As one of the city's central landmarks, the park features a large botanical garden, several play areas for children, and a rink for ice-skating and rollerblading. Admire the local flora and fauna in the many garden greenhouses and landscaped beds. Or ride bikes through the cherry blossom-lined paths around the park. Visit in the evening to attend one of the park's famous light and water shows. Planten un Blomen is one of the nicest places in Hamburg. The plants, threes, and nature in general is beautiful. There are places to sit down and have a nice peaceful time with a loved one, or a picnic with friends. Water flows along the whole area in a river. There are hills and valleys. And all of this is in the heart of Hamburg. If you want, and I would highly recommend it, you go where with some friends. Bring some food. Have a nice time. And as the sun sets you walk on over to St. Pauli (which is just around the corner). Or why not bring a date and afterwards go to the Hamburger Dom? Of course it gets a bit crowded when there is good weather in the summer.
This place is truly wonderful to come hang out on a fine day. Whether lazing about with your family, hanging with your friends or even chilling alone with a good read: this place is just perfect for relaxing or playing outdoor games. It's size also adds to the possibilities of finding a quiet or less frequented spot.
