Secluded Gold Rock Beach is famous for its state at low tide, when its shoreline extends for yards into the sea--affording it the nickname of Grand Bahama Island's "welcome mat." A part of the national park, it lies next to the longest underground cave system in the world. Don on some sturdy shoes and venture of into the caves or bring along your snorkel and explore the crystal waters. The longer way from the parking to the beach is through the mangroves, but you can take a shortcut over the wood-slatted bridge. You have to do the caves across the road, it is amazing. The beach is a little way but you get to see the sponsors of the bridge. I love the beach because compare to some there isn't the sea weeds...

Great beach. This is a wonderful location for families with little kids, as there is a large beach with many shallow areas for kids to play in. It is probably a 10 minute walk from the parking lot to the beach, so be prepared for that. But it is an interesting walk through mangroves and worth every step.
