The legend of the local saint, St. Magnus, inspires the frescoes throughout Benediktinerkloster St. Mang, the church of the St. Mang Benedictine abbey. The abbey was founded in the first half of the 9th century, while its medieval basilica was transformed into a Baroque church in the 18th century.
