Chania Town — 7 nights
The place where Cretan and Venetian cultures merged in the 13th century, Chania Town attracts throngs of tourists with its well-preserved medieval harbor.Your day by day itinerary now includes Cretan Mountain Jeep Safari. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Agii Apostoli Beach and Agia Pelagia Beach. Get a sense of the local culture at Kastro Gramvoussas and Holy Trinity Monastery (Agia Triada). You'll find plenty of places to visit near Chania Town: Sfentoni Cave (in Zoniana), The Church of Agia Aikaterini (in Anopolis) and Frangokastello Beach (in Frangokastello). There's still lots to do: learn about all things military at War Shelter of Platanias, see the interesting displays at Greek National Football Museum, learn about winemaking at Manousakis Winery, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Gialiskari beach.

Traveling by car from Chania Town to Agios Nikolaos takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and shuttle; or take a bus. In September, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 20°C. On the 25th (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive back home.
