Crossroads of Europe

Strasbourg is famous for its beautiful historical center, the Grande Île, which was the first city center classified entirely as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Strasbourg is one of the nine largest cities in France with nearly half a million inhabitants in the metropolitan area crossing the river to the German city of Kehl, on the eastern bank of the Rhine River.
Get out of town with these interesting Strasbourg side-trips: Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix (in Rhodes), Old Town (in Colmar) and Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg (in Orschwiller). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through La Petite France, stroll around Parc de l'Orangerie, make a trip to Barrage Vauban, and admire the landmark architecture of Gare de Strasbourg.

To see more things to do, photos, where to stay, and tourist information, go to the Strasbourg online route maker.

In September, plan for daily highs up to 25°C, and evening lows to 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
