I was at the museum last year. I couldn’t believe how much history there is in Turkey! Even Turkish people are not aware of what exist in their own country! Some collections and sites are being looked after by volunteers from all walks of life! I have witnessed the love and care of the heritage in Turkey here in this museum. One of the wealthiest Turks invested in this wonderful place and volunteers as well as patriots cared for the contents. The building is also historic! Because Turkey (Anatolia) is so blessed with history, Turks at large are not startled or impressed easily with the rich historic artifacts and sites that go back hundreds, even thousands of years! I am a Turk, but live outside Turkey! Every time I visit Turkey, I travel back in time, all of a sudden I find myself in a time travel adventure! With a little imagination to help erase the modern side of the country! Rahmi M. Koc Museum in Ankara will take you back in time to a relatively recent history but in a much older building in the middle of the city where the modern Turkish Republic was born. Don’t run through it, stop and saver each item on exhibit! Enjoy!

Very nice collection. The exhibition is located in old building. We liked to watch old comedy in English in a small room.
