Create an itinerary including St. James's Park
St. James's Park is one of the most pleasurable green spaces in London. The oldest of the city's royal parks, it offers 23 hectares (57 acres) of lawns, trees, and playgrounds around a pond. Take a stroll down the queen's ceremonial route from Buckingham Palace, spot the palace and the London Eye from the Blue Bridge, and enjoy a waterside meal at Inn the Park while spotting ducks, geese, swans, and even pelicans. While in the park, keep an eye out for some of the plaques along the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. This 11 km (7 mi) route past buildings and locations related to the princess goes through this park, as well as Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens. A visit to St. James's Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our London travel route builder website to plot your vacation.

  • Such a tranquil experience! Enjoy the peacefulness of the park and its serenity it instills. There are benches to ponder on and take the scenery in. A small walk between Westminster Abby and...

  • This is my favourite park in London. Not only because of its gorgeous setting with the lake, but also because it’s quieter than Green Park and Hyde park. Love the birds too, particularly the pelicans (I think I must take pictures of them every time I go!).
  • Beautiful park and in my opinion the better site to visit instead of the palace. Plenty of wildlife amd beautiful grounds to admire. Squirrels and ducks are super friendly from years of tourist feeding them human food. Please don't feed them, it's not good for them. I recommend walking the entire park. You won't regret it.
